Babar Azam is considering sending legal notices to YouTubers and former players.

According to sources reported by Geo News on Friday, Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team, is contemplating legal action against YouTubers and former players who accused him of misconduct during the T20 World Cup 2024.

Following Pakistan’s early exit from the tournament, criticism mounted against Babar and the team’s performance.

A social media campaign targeting Babar emerged during the tournament, prompting him to feel disheartened by the allegations.

Babar is reportedly seeking legal recourse against those who made the accusations and has initiated discussions with legal experts.

The Pakistan Cricket Board’s legal department is said to be gathering evidence related to the statements made against Babar by YouTubers and former players.

Pakistan failed to qualify for the Super Eight, leading to their elimination from the tournament. The team has faced criticism for their subpar performance in the group stage matches.

Pakistan lost to debutants the US by five runs in a Super Over tie and to India by six runs. They secured a victory against Canada on June 11 by seven wickets.

The match between the US and Ireland was abandoned due to rain on June 14, securing one point for the co-hosts and ending Pakistan’s chances of advancing in the tournament.

Following their final league game against Ireland, which was essentially a formality, the team returned home.
