In the T20 World Cup 2024, the West Indies triumphed over the USA with a convincing 9-wicket victory.

BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS: Shai Hope delivered an exceptional performance, scoring 82 runs off just 39 balls, leading the West Indies to a dominant victory over the USA in their T20 World Cup Super Eights match on Friday

The West Indies won by nine wickets, achieving the target with 9.1 overs to spare.

The West Indies bowled out the USA for 128 in this crucial match between the tournament co-hosts and then chased down the target in just 10.5 overs, with Hope hitting eight sixes.

For the USA, Andreas Gous was the highest scorer with 29 runs from 16 balls, followed by Nitish Kumar, who scored 20 runs off 19 balls.

Andre Russell and Roston Chase were the standout bowlers for the West Indies, each taking three wickets, while Alzarri Joseph claimed two wickets.

Both teams had lost their first Super 8 games, making this match a virtual knockout.
