The minimum temperature in the port city was recorded at 30.5°C, and the maximum temperature is expected to reach between 36°C to 38°C.
Humidity levels are currently at 75%, adding to the discomfort.
Looking ahead, the forecast indicates a further rise in temperatures over the next three days, with hot and humid conditions expected to persist. The mercury could reach 39°C on Sunday and touch 40°C on Monday, with a chance of rain on both days.
Light rain is also expected in parts of Jacobabad, Dadu, Qambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Sukkur, Hyderabad, and Thatta tonight.
Following earlier forecasts, parts of Karachi experienced light showers on Friday, bringing some relief from the sweltering heat. Areas such as North Karachi, New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Garden, Lyari, Saddar, old city areas, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal received light rain.
According to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz, more rain or drizzle is expected in some areas, particularly the suburban areas of Karachi, on June 22 or 23. Sarfaraz also mentioned the possibility of “more than normal” rains in Sindh, including Karachi.
The onset of the monsoon is anticipated in Sindh after July 5 or 6, while it may begin in Punjab and Kashmir from June 29 or 30.
