The incident occurred on Satyana Road, and the fire was extinguished after the laptop battery exploded while charging. The injured, including five children and two women, were taken to Allied Hospital, where two siblings succumbed to their burns. The remaining seven are being treated, with doctors noting severe injuries covering 50% to 60% of their bodies.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed condolences and ordered the best medical treatment for the injured. An investigation has been launched into the incident by the regional police officer and a committee formed by the Faisalabad deputy commissioner.
In a separate incident, a fire at a paper factory in Lahore took 25 rescue workers 14 hours to control.
