Elon Musk Predicts Neuralink Will Replace Smartphones in the Future

Tech magnate Elon Musk has boldly predicted that Neuralink devices will soon replace smartphones.

The Tesla CEO made this assertion in response to a post on social media platform X, where a parody account named Not Elon Musk asked users: “Would you install a Neuralink interface on your brain to allow you to control your new X phone by thinking?”

In his reply, Musk stated: “In the future, there will be no phones, just Neuralinks.”

Neuralink is a tech company developing a device “designed to connect human brains directly to computers.”

Earlier this year in January, after years of animal trials, Neuralink implanted its first brain-computer interface (BCI) in the brain of Noland Arbaugh, 29, who was paralyzed in an accident eight years ago, according to First Post.

Following the chip implantation, Arbaugh was able to play games using his brain and move mouse cursors.

Musk’s statement comes as Neuralink is making significant progress in brain chip technology, though the company also faces challenges.

The New York Post reported that former Neuralink animal care specialist Lindsay Short has filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging that the brain-chip technology failed to provide proper protective equipment while she cared for animals.
