Rumors are circulating online that the star couple might relocate to London, as reported by the Times of India.
This speculation follows Kohli’s retirement from T20I cricket after leading his team to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 last month.
“This was my last T20 World Cup […] it’s time for the next generation to take over. Some amazing players will carry the team forward and keep the flag flying high,” Kohli said while announcing his retirement from the shortest format of the game.
After returning to India and participating in the victory parade in Mumbai, Kohli quickly departed for the United Kingdom to reunite with Anushka and their children, Vamika and Akaay, in London.
Several reasons are speculated for this potential move, one being the couple’s personal connection to the city, as their son Akaay was born in the British capital.
Kohli and Anushka spent about two months in London after Akaay’s birth in February earlier this year, with Kohli returning to India for the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the T20 World Cup.
Their frequent visits to London, where they have been seen dining, shopping, and engaging in daily activities, combined with their desire for a private life away from the constant limelight, have fueled these relocation rumors.
“We were not in the country. Just to feel normal for two months, for me and my family, was a surreal experience,” Kohli once shared, expressing his gratitude for the time spent with his family.
“It’s an amazing experience to be just another person on the street and not be recognized,” the cricketer added.
