Pakistan's white-ball captain, Babar Azam, has commenced a rigorous fitness regimen ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

Scheduled to kick off in August in Rawalpindi, this series holds significant importance for Pakistan’s World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 campaign.

A video shared on social media captures Babar Azam’s dedicated fitness session, showcasing his commitment to preparing for the demanding Test format. After the Bangladesh series, Pakistan will host England for a three-Test series, adding to the pressure on Babar Azam following a challenging 2024 T20 World Cup.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently unveiled the schedule for the men’s 2024-25 international cricket season, beginning with Tests against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi (August 21-25) and Karachi (August 30 to September 3). This will be followed by England’s tour, featuring Tests in Multan (October 7-11), Karachi (October 15-19), and Rawalpindi (October 24-28). Subsequently, the West Indies will visit Pakistan for two Tests in Karachi (January 16-20) and Multan (January 24-28).

The announcement has generated excitement among cricket fans, highlighting the critical role these upcoming Test matches will play in Pakistan’s international rankings and their pursuit in the World Test Championship.
